The Diocese

More than 200 Sunday school students, teachers, superintendents, and parents for all across the Diocese attended the CEC Lenten Workshop on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral.
The topic of the day was, “Celebrate! The Gifts of the Holy Spirit.” The children started the morning with a Procession into the Cathedral where they were addressed by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian along with Fr. Krikor (St. Garabed, Rancho Mirage), Fr. Sarkis (St. Gregory, Pasadena), and Fr.Vazken, (RECLAIM Conference Chair).
Later, they enjoyed an interactive discussion about how to use the gifts that the Holy Spirit has given to each of us and made a “Lenten Prayer Box” to take home as a reminder to share these gifts with those around them.

We were delighted to have AACCWD Chair, Sevag Derderian, lead us in learning the ”Amen Alleluia,” which we joyously sang during a live Baptism Demonstration by Fr. Krikor Zakaryan, who serves as Clergy Representative for the CEC.

Fr. Krikor enthusiastically blessed everyone with Holy Water at the conclusion of the demonstration – a true Workshop highlight! Finally, we were treated to a delicious lunch, provided by the Western Diocese Ladies’ Auxiliary. It was a memorable event and a wonderful way for us all to observe the Lenten season together.
