Sunrise (Arevakal) Service On The Median Day Of Lent

On Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, presided over the Median Day of Lent (Mitchink) Sunrise (Arevakal) Service at St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral.

A Lenten reception, organized by the Bible Study Group was held at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Banquet Hall following the service.

In his remarks, the Primate commended the dedication of Mr. Mashdots Jobanian, Director of the Religious Education Department of the Western Diocese for his selfless service to the Armenian Apostolic Church and his unrelenting dedication to spreading the Word of God. 

In the evening, the Primate, with the participation of Diocesan clergy, presided over the evening vigil at the Cathedral.

The vigil was followed by an Agape Meal organized by the Cathedral’s Ladies Guild chaired by Mrs. Araxie Boyamian in the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall. The evening’s honoree was Mrs. Arshagouhi Tavitian, who was recognized for her unwavering and resolute service to the Armenian Apostolic Church throughout the years.
