Fr. Vazken Movsesian Guest Speaker At Southern California Lenten Retreat Organized By The Mor Gregorios Syriac Orthodox Students Association, St. Mary Women’s League And St. Paul’s Men’s Fellowship

The Mor Gregorios Syriac Orthodox Student Association partnered with St. Mary Women's League and St. Paul Men's Fellowship hosted a Southern California Lenten Retreat and invited Fr. Vazken Movsesian to be the guest speaker. 

The theme of the retreat was "The Way of the Cross" and Fr. Vazken shared two stimulating lectures with them, giving the group time to for break-out discussions. 

The day began with a service project at a local food pantry where participants served food for about 60 families. Throughout the retreat, they engaged through discussions and praise and worship with the theme of the retreat. The retreat concluded with evening prayer and a service of the Venation of the Cross, led by Rev. Fr. Sabu Corespicopa and Rev. Fr. Vazken Movsesian.

This was a beautiful display of fellowship between our two sister churches. Next Summer Fr. Vazken will be addressing the national family gathering of the Syriac Orthodox Church in North America in Pocono, Pennsylvania.
