Focusing on the Youth: Close to 60 Diocesan Youth Take Part in a Fellowship at the Primate’s Residence

Throughout his primacy, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America has made the Diocesan youth a primary objective in the overall mission. “Integrating and immersing the youth in the life of the Armenian Church will ensure the continuity and livelihood of the world’s oldest Christian institution.” On March 6, 2016, the Primate welcomed to his residence close to 60 members of the Diocesan youth for an evening of fellowship.

Matters relevant to the youth were discussed and the clergy provided answers from the religious and theological viewpoint. In his remarks, the Primate said “I am truly impressed by the attendance of close to 60 youth who have shown an incredible level of maturity in their faith life and genuine respect for their God-given lives, family values and our church as a divine institution.”

“The topics of discussion have taught me much about your lives and genuine interests. It is truly inspiring to learn that our young generation is comprised of visionary leaders who have noble aspirations to attain the legacy of our forefathers with reverence.” His Eminence continued.

The Primate encouraged the youth to serve their respective ACYO chapters with a renewed vision and vigor and to be more integrated in the life of their communities.
