On Saturday, March 5, 2016, the Corporate Board of Armenia Fund, Inc., elected Mrs. Maria Mehranian as the President of Armenia Fund, Inc., the United States Western Region affiliate of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.
She successfully led the Armenia Fund between 2004-2009 in raising millions of dollars in providing multi-level, large-scale humanitarian and infrastructure development assistance to the Republic of Armenia and Karabakh by uniting the resources of Armenians around the world.
On behalf of the Diocesan Council and the faithful, the Primate congratulated Mrs. Mehranian on her election. “We rest assured that Armenia Fund, the largest Armenian-American charitable organization in the United States will continue to prosper in its noble mission. We commend your visionary leadership and your invaluable contributions in furthering its mission,” said Archbishop Derderian in his congratulatory message.
The Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer for Cordoba Corporation is a recipient of NECO’s Ellis Island Medal of Honor (2008) and has been recognized with a Special Commendation by the former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in 2007 for her extraordinary contribution to furthering Armenia Fund’s mission in the United States.
Mr. Vahe Skenderian represented the Primate at the Corporate Board meeting.
