Nerouj Presents a Recipe for Success

On Thursday, September 20, 2018, Nerouj, hosted a Chef Series Mixer at The Western Diocese of The Armenian Church in Burbank, CA.  Nerouj, a compound word meaning inner strength, is comprised of a diverse team of young professionals and college students. The team's mission is to provide a platform through the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church for Armenian Young Professionals to network with each other, while also paying it forward by mentoring the next generation.

The Chef Series Mixer, one of many various monthly mixers hosted by the team demonstrated their mission. The event featured a panel of successful young chefs in our community: Gev Bazerkanian, Private Chef; Michael Kay, Executive Chef Kitchen 1200 & Vertigo Event Venue; Naris Mardirosian, Chef and Culinary Producer;  Chef ST (Sako Takvoryian), Personal Chef; Sarkes Yegiazaryan, owner of Monta Factory in Pasadena, CA.

The evening began with a welcome message from Nerouj team member Lusine Daglian who introduced the event moderator Talin Postajian, also a Nerouj member. Talin thanked Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, who was in the audience for his commitment and support of Nerouj's mission. She also acknowledged Silvana Vartanian, Nerouj Chair for her dedication.

The panel discussion touched on topics of achieving personal success, overcoming obstacles, and how to remain focused and motivated. The forum provided insight into how each panelist followed a different path to achieve their career goal. The audience had the opportunity to ask questions and also spend time with each Chef as they sampled the delicious dishes the Chefs provided. The evening was a success in bringing together young professionals who shared their journey and their creations with each other and the community.
