Primate Pays Pastoral Visit To St. Garabed Armenian Church Of The Desert: Parish Council Organizes Reception To Benefit Stewardship Program Of The Western Diocese

On January 25, 2019, the Diocesan Primate paid a pastoral visit to St. Garabed Armenian Church of the Desert. Accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Manoug Markarian, Stewardship Committee Chairman Dr. Vahram Biricik and Committee members Mr. Vartan Nazerian and Mrs. Silva Katchiguian, Archbishop Derderian met with the Rev. Fr. Krikor Zakaryan, Pastor of the host parish and members of the faithful community.

In the evening, the Primate and his delegation participated in a reception benefitting the Stewardship Program of the Western Diocese. The Primate expressed his gratitude and commended the noble initiative of the Parish Council for wonderfully organizing the reception.

In his remarks Archbishop Derderian stated “The Stewardship Program, one of the missions dearest to our hearts, was enlivened through the financial support of dedicated faithful. Thus, the Stewardship Committee, addresses the preparation of future clergy of the Diocese.  It is our wish that our Diocesan clergy and respective councils support this vital mission. We thank God for caring individuals, (clergymen, benefactors and donors) who have understood the importance of this God-pleasing mission and have stood by it with their loyal support throughout the years.”
