St. Nersess Armenian Seminary Dean Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian Visits San Francisco

The Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, Dean of St. Nersess Armenian Seminary visited the Bay Area community from March 1-3, 2019. During his visit, he met with community leaders, and clergy serving the region. It was a busy and productive weekend for Fr. Chevian who participated in fundraising gatherings, community events, and church services.

The first event was hosted by Katherine Sarafian on Friday, March 1, which was well attended. The attendees were very much interested in supporting the seminary.

Saturday, March 2, Fr. Chevian was the guest speaker during the World Prayer Day, which was hosted by St. John Armenian Church of San Francisco with participation all the Bay Area Armenian Churches.

Saturday evening,  Fr. Chevian along with Fr. Sarkis Petoyan attended a fundraising event this time hosted by one of the Parish Council members of St. John Armenian Church, Greg Nemet who is also a board member of St. Nersess Seminary. The evening was very successful.

On Sunday, March 3, Fr. Chevian celebrated Divine Liturgy at St. John Armenian Church and offered the homily. He spoke about Poon Paregentan, and Great Lent.

St. John Armenian Church was grateful to welcome Fr. Chevian for this visit, during which he emphasized the importance of the seminary and the mission of the Armenian Church.
