The Religious Curriculum in Armenian Day Schools

The Religious Curriculum in our Armenian Day Schools was the focus of a meeting organized by Archbishop Hovnan Derderian on March 21, at the Western Diocese Headquarters.

Bringing together principals, educators and parents from the local area, the Primate reaffirmed his commitment to the Christian education of our youth. He was especially delighted to hear that the Parents and Teachers were calling for more religious programming inside of the Armenian Day School programs. In response, he offered the services of diocesan priests and staff to augment current patterns of learning.

The gathering included representatives from the following Armenian Schools: Sahag Mesrob, Merdinian, Hovsepian, AGBU-Manoogian-Demirdjian and AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian School. A healthy discussion ensued. The Primate called for further dialogue and established a standing committee to have regular meetings and present solutions to this group on a regular basis.
