Four Decades Of Selfless Service: Oia Honors Dr. Ohannes Kulak Avedikyan

The Organization of Istanbul Armenians (OIA) honored OIA Lifetime Honorary Member, Trustee and Cultural Committee Chairman Dr. Ohannes Kulak Avedikyan on March 24, 2019 for his 40 consecutive years of continued service to OIA and his 50 years of dedication and exemplary service to the Armenian people and nation.

The Diocesan Primate H.E. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian attended the unique cultural event which was held at OIA Headquarters in Winnetka. In his benediction, the Primate reflected on Dr. Kulak Avedikyan’s commitment to service. “Tonight, the large audience has gathered in testimony of your selflessness and dedication to Motherland Armenia, the Armenian Church, the Armenian identity and our rich cultural heritage. We have known you personally and have been inspired by the humility and grace with which you have served the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian people,” stated Archbishop Derderian in part.

Following the Primate’s closing prayer, the guests were treated to a reception.
