The Diocese

The ACYO has had an active start to the 2019 year! The 70th Annual Assembly was hosted by St. John Armenian Apostolic Church in San Francisco from January 18 to January 20. This was a great opportunity for delegates to learn through discussion sessions and important deliberations. The weekend also featured a pleasurable social event and an entertaining banquet. The elections for the various offices took place and the new Central Council was established.
The Central Council conducted the Northern Regional meeting at St. Vartan Armenian Apostolic Church in Oakland on March 16. One of the main topics of discussion was the roles and responsibilities of the various executive board positions. The other main topic of discussion was an overview of the four pillars and planning events with them in mind.  It is the prayer of the Central Council that these ideas and lessons were valuable in planning the years for the churches present.

The first diocesan wide event for the year was the Junior Retreat at Hye Camp.  The theme for the weekend was My Walk with God: A Spiritual Journey.  The discussions were led by Father Avedis Abovian and Father Mesrop Ash. All members had a memorable time and we look forward to our future retreats.

We look forward to our upcoming events this year including the Central and Southern regional meetings as well as Sports Weekend! Please save the dates for Sports Weekend, May 24 to May 26! If you have any questions or would like to join the ACYO, please contact us at acyowd@gmail.com or through social media on Facebook and Instagram.
