Genocide Remembrance Day in Phoenix

In the early evening of Wednesday, April 24, 2019, over a hundred people gathered at the Armenian Memorial Monument located at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix, Arizona to remember and honor the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

Rev. Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan led everyone in prayer and a Proclamation (which was presented earlier that day by Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane) was read. A cultural program was held which included a song performed by Sunday School students of St. Apkar Armenian Apostolic Church of Arizona.

We thank each person for attending during such times. It is vital that we come together as a community – one that is deeply rooted in its faith, history and culture.
