On April 19, 2019, Good Friday, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian presided over a special Good Friday service at the main entrance of Glendale Memorial Hospital. Archbishop Derderian was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Vatche Hayrapetyan. Among the dignitaries in attendance were Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger and Glendale City Councilmember Vrej Agajanian. Members of the hospital’s administrative staff, the chaplain, physicians and nurses alike took part in this year’s Good Friday service.
After explaining the significance of the day in Christendom and delivering the day’s spiritual message, His Eminence took time to greet the hospital staff and patients alike. While visiting the Neo-Natal unit, Archbishop Derderian also blessed the newborn children and their parents.
