On April 22, in commemoration of the 104th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Pasadena organized a solemn evening of remembrance of the martyred saints of the first genocide of the 20th century.





Held in the Geragos Hall of the church, the commemorative event featured a processional by the AGBU Scouts, as well as songs and recitations by the St. Gregory Armenian Church Saturday School students, St. Gregory Hovsepian School students, Iraqi Armenian Associationās Saturday School Students as well as performances by Tavit Samuelian who was accompanied by Aram Lepejyan.


Archbishop Derderian commended the performances of the students encouraging them to remember and honor our martyred ancestors, preserve the sacred traditions and strive to become exemplary Armenian Christians of our society.

Following the program, the students led a processional to the church courtyard where a candlelight vigil was held in memory of the martyred saints of the Armenian Genocide.
