The Diocese

Our Summer Camp commenced last Sunday, July 14th. Currently in its second week, campers learn about the rich history and sacred traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church in a fun-filled and exciting atmosphere in the wondrous scenery of nature.
On July 22, the Diocesan Primate visited the campgrounds where he met with campers. Archbishop Derderian encouraged the youth to lead prayerful lives, adhere to the teachings of Christ, our Lord and to uphold the Christian values which we commonly hold in reverence. His Eminence also participated in a question and answer session with the youth, in which he stressed the importance of camp as the gateway and the journey leading to God and establishing ourselves as members of an extended Christian family.Â

About Our Camp
The Hye Camp program operates as a 160-acre property located in Dunlap, California, about 35 miles east of Fresno. It is within five miles of the entrance to Kings Canyon and the Sequoia National Park at an elevation of 4,400 feet. The property offers a unique, serene retreat-like setting, perfect for reflection and fellowship.
During the summer, the Diocese hosts 4 weeks of summer camp aka Hye Camp. During the remainder of the year, the facility is used by various diocesan organizations for meetings, retreats and conferences. The camp is also available to rent by outside groups throughout the year, and interested parties should contact the camp or Diocese Headquarters.
