On September 23, 2019, the Diocesan Primate, accompanied by Dn. Harout Markarian, Executive Director of the Western Diocese and Mr. Diran Avagyan, Director of Program Management and Special Assignments visited the Consulate General of Japan.
In a meeting with Consul General Akira Muto, the Primate reflected on the success of the collaborative event, highlighting the rich legacy of Diana Apcar. The Diocesan Primate expressed his gratitude to the Consul General Muto and the Japanese-American organizations, namely The Japanese American National Museum, the Little Tokyo Service Center, the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center for embracing Diana Apcar, an influential figure in Armenian history.
Archbishop Derderian officially presented the Armenian cross-stone (khatchkar) to Consul General Muto, expressing his gratitude to the Japanese community for honoring such a distinguished figure in Armenian history.
