On Thursday, October 10, 2019, the Etchmiadzin Children’s Fund organized a literary-musical evening themed “A Walk in the Armenian Poetic Garden.” Held under the auspices of the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, the event, which was attended by over 200 guests, was an expression of gratitude for Sirvard Kavoukjian’s invaluable contributions in the preservation and advancement of the Armenian culture in the Diaspora.
In a rousing performance, Silva Komikian, a merited reciter from the Armenian community in Turkey, delivered a rousing performance. The large audience were also entrhralled by the musical performances of the “Sound of Children’s Choir” directed by Sirvard Kavoukjian.
The guests were also entertained by the melodic musical performances of saxophonist David Petrosyan.
The evening’s honoree expressed her gratitude to the Diocesan Primate for his continued pastoral guidance and support, noting Archbishop Derderian’s dedication of promoting cultural programs in the Armenian-American community. Kavoukjian also encouraged the guests to support the Etchmiadzin Children’s Fund of the Western Diocese, highlighting ECF’s God-pleasing mission throughout the years.
The event concluded with a closing prayer.
