His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and Mexico paid a pastoral visit to St. Peter Armenian Church of Glendale on Sunday, December 22, 2019 where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon.
During the service, assisted by the Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan, Pastor of St. Peter Armenian Church, Archbishop Derderian conferred four minor orders of acolyte upon Arshag Manukyan, and Hovhannes Manukyan. Altar server Sevak Mnatsakanyan was granted the order of sub-deacon by the Primate.





His Eminence also ordained Tigran Hambardzumyan and Arees Setrak into the Diaconate. Archbishop Derderian shared with the newly ordained altar servers the importance of serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Armenain Apostolic Church with a renewed sense of dedication and wholeheartedness.



Following the service, the parishioners gathered in the Mehrabian Hall of the parish for a delightful Christmas play presented by the Sunday School children. After a visit from Santa Claus, the children gathered around the Primate and learned a liturgical hymn of the Armenian Church (sharagan) dedicated to the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of Christ, our Lord.
Commending the pastoral leadership of Fr. Yeghia Isayan and the dedicated service of the Parish Council chaired by Mr. Vahe Skenderian, the Primate extended his blessings to the parishioners encouraging them to work collectively in spreading the light of the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the community.
The parishioners were treated to an Agape meal organized by the Ladies Society of the parish.
