In the tradition of the Christmas Season, an evening of spiritual hymns, carols and prayers were offered at the St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the invitation of the Diocesan Primate, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

The Cathedral Choir performed traditional Christmas carols celebrating the sounds of the Christmas season with their angelic voices. The Rev. Fr. Vazken Movsesian shared the Christmas message in a homily about the need to embrace the Birth of the Savior and to become His light in our communities. The blessings of the day were shared with the faithful by His Eminence Abp. Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese.
The congregants were photographed around the nativity scene portrayed by the Mr. and Mrs. Varoujan Movsesian, with the youngest member Ari as the “Baby Jesus.”
"May the joy of the angels
The eagerness of the shepherds
The perseverance of the wise men
The obedience of Joseph and Mary
The peace of the Christ Child
Be yours this Christmas
and the blessing of God Almighty – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit be among you and all who you love, this Christmas and forever. Amen."
