Western Diocese Ladies Auxiliary Host 46Th Annual Debutante Ball On June 28, 2020 At Beverly Wilshire Hotel

Excitement reins high as members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Western Diocese finalize plans for their 46^th Annual Debutante Ball.  They have spent months planning this gala event to be held on June 28, 2020 in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, beginning with a reception at 5:00 p.m; presentation of the debutantes at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing at 7:00 p.m.

His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese, states that the 46^th  anniversary  represents a milestone in the history of the activities of the Diocese.  “The finest young women and men of our community are introduced at this event and we are allowed an opportunity for families and friends to acknowledge their achievements and dedication of our youth in the Armenian church and community” stated His Eminence. 

The preparations included a Family Buffet, to be held on January 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Armenian Church in Van Nuys, California.  This reception  affords the Ladies Auxiliary committee members the opportunity to meet and greet the young women and men serving in our community who will be presented at the Ball and their parents.  Currently, fifteen young women have committed their participation as debutantes.  The debutantes and escorts will receive relevant information regarding the process, procedure, dress code and rehearsals involved in participating in the Debutante Ball.  Guests will enjoy a bountiful buffet prepared by the members of the Ladies Auxiliary. 

Cindy Norian, Chair of the Ladies Auxiliary, reports that as in previous years, a capacity crowd is anticipated.  Many of the debutantes and escorts who have participated through the years have kept in contact with one another, cherishing the memories they have shared.  “Many of the young adults have formed lasting bonds because of the Ball,” stated Norian, “and as the years have gone by, many of the debs and escorts are now the daughters and sons of past debutantes and escorts.”
