Update On Mer Hooys

Father Avedis Abovian, pastor at the Armenian Apostolic Church of Crescenta Valley, visited Mer Hooys on April 13, 2016. Der Avedis worked with the Mer Hooys Board of Directors during 2012-2013 to help get the program off the ground during its first year.  He was at the dedication of the Nakashian Children’s Support Center on June 30, 2012.  The Board was delighted that Der Avedis returned to Mer Hooys to see the fruits of his efforts!

Mer Hooys also welcomed Elizabeth Akian of New Jersey.  Ms. Akian is a member of the executive committee of AIWA-New Jersey affiliate and Tekeyan Cultural Association/Mher Megerdechian Theatrical Group.  Members of the theatrical group are visiting Armenia to perform "All Rise, The Court is in Session" in Gyumri and Yerevan.  They invited the residents of Mer Hooys to attend their performance in Yerevan.  Elizabeth visited Mer Hooys enjoying singing, dancing and performances by our girls.   Our girls gave Elizabeth a leather band embossed with the word "Hooys" as a welcome gift.
