When We Turn Away God

“There is no land more beautiful than the heart of others, there is no land more beautiful to gain than the peace found with a brother. And that is the land to inherit with meekness.” (Pope Francis)

When we have lost the sense of meekness, we then find ourselves in the state of ruining our relationship with God. And the world we live in today is witnessing this reality: losing the sense of meekness. This state of mind and soul dominates our life when we turn away God and refuge to follow the life of Christ, our Lord. As Christians, we ought to make the promise to imitate Christ. This must be the calling of all those who are baptized in the name of Christ, our Lord and have chosen the path designed by Christ.

And the promise to walk with Christ becomes real when we pray unceasingly and tirelessly. This is the journey which leads our lives to holiness. We are not born as saints; however, having been created in the image of the Almighty, we have been graced with the divine gifts, tools which and when used and lived we then inherit meekness. This is the virtue which brings us all closer to God and to all.
