The Diocese

The Summer Camp of the Western Diocese has been of historical significance in the life of our Diocese. It is a Diocesan treasure. Since 1964, our camp has impacted countless lives throughout our communities, providing a serene retreat-like atmosphere where its community can enjoy their Christian heritage, culture and faith.
For the first time ever, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the continuous mission of camp. Hardships cannot and should not shatter what our founders, counselors and campers have built.
Â
This is the time for all past campers and counselors step to forward and make a generous contribution and gift for the healthy sustenance of our camp. We all can and should become a living stone of the mosaic of our camp. Remember, what you have learned and gained during your time at Hye Camp will always be greater than your monetary gift, for some of you have found your soulmate at Hye Camp where God has united you and has led you to be the “blood” of the Church. What you give today will secure the overall growth of the camp for your children to relive the same experience. Although our major donors have helped us maintain the camp over the years, the future success of our camp should not have the ownership of major donors alone, who give generously. The camp belongs to us all, requiring our full participation in its prosperity.

Due to the pandemic, our plans for EPIC have changed by necessity from goals of growth, to those of preservation and maintenance. Now more than ever, the alumni, friends, and supporters of Hye Camp are key to the long-term success of the program and our facility. Without camp, or an outside rental season, our primary funding to keep operations going this year will be the financial support and participation of our community.Â
With no camp or rental income during 2020, our ability to keep up with our monthly operating expenses and ongoing maintenance costs will not happen without the support of our community. Your assistance in terms of donations and volunteering is needed now more than ever. Our preservation and maintenance plan is a top priority in securing Hye Camp for future generations.
Â
Your heartfelt contributions are greatly appreciated for the sustainability of Hye Camp. No donation is too small and all donations, regardless of amount, are welcomed. Donations can be mailed to the Western Diocese (3325 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91504) indicating HYE CAMP in the memo section.
