Primate Holds Zoom Conference with Mission Parish Parishioners and Clergy

On Thursday, September 10, the Primate participated in a Zoom Conference with parishioners and visiting priests of mission parishes of the Western Diocese.

During the meeting, the parishioners expressed concerns and identified issues specific to each location. Success stories were shared as well, inspiring and aspiring the participants.

As catering to the spiritual, cultural, educational, and social needs of our flock is the primary mission of the Western Diocese, the following appointments were made by the Diocesan Primate.

Fr. Vazgen Boyajyan will be the visiting pastor of Idaho, Alaska and Hawaii communities.

Fr. Mashdots Keshishian will serve as the visiting pastor of Bakersfield.

Fr. Vazken Movsesian will cater to the religious needs of the Armenian-American community of Utah.

Deacon Gevork Gevorkian will be the deacon-in-charge of San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara. 

Fr. Yeghishe Ksachikyan will visit the Armenian community in the Northern Sierra Region.

Our communities in Colorado and New Mexico will be under the spiritual care of Fr. Yeremia Khachatryan.

The communities of Victorville and Palmdale will remain under the pastoral care of Fr. Vatche Hayrapetyan.

Deacon Daniel Aydenian will continue to be the deacon-in-charge of Turlock and Modesto communities.

Fr. Zenob Nalbandian will tend the flock of Riverside parish. Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan will continue to visit the Armenian Community of Tucson.

The community in Carmel is under the pastoral care of Fr. Datev Harutyunian.  

Mrs. Aida Askejian from the Central Council of Ladies Society, also participated in the meeting and assured that with the formation of local chapters of Ladies Society, the mission parishes will thrive in every aspect. Mrs. Askejian graciously agreed to get in touch with all the mission parishes and provide necessary support.

His Eminence expressed his gratitude to the participants for their dedication, time and tireless efforts in this most God-pleasing endeavor, which we perceive as an apostolic mission.
