To spread the cheer and joy of the Christmas season, a delegation of Diocesan clergymen visited Ararat Home in Mission Hills on Thursday, December 10, 2015, where they were greeted by several members of the Ararat Home staff and Board of Trustees.Â
H.E. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church, visited the residents accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian, the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, the Rev. Fr. Nerses Hayrapetyan. Diocesan Youth Director Dn. Artak Khachikyan and the Director of the TV/Media Department Mr. Vahe Sargsyan accompanied the clergymen. Â Â
Meeting with the residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility as well as in the Assisted Living Facility, Archbishop Derderian reiterated his admiration and support for the mission of Ararat Home and expressed his delight in once again visiting the establishment.Â
The clergymen spoke with residents individually, blessed them and, in return, asked for their prayers and blessings. The residents and staff also received copies of the latest Diocesan publications.
The residents were delighted to welcome the students of Armenian Mesrobian School who entertained them with the gift of song and dance. Archbishop Derderian exoressed his gratitude to the school's principal Mr. David Ghoogasian for the valuable initiative and undertaking to strengthen the relationship between the youth and the elderly of the community. As a token of his gratitude, the Primate presented prayer books to the students commending their Christian spirit.
