REV. FR. SEROVBE ALAJIAN APPOINTED PASTOR OF ST. SARKIS ARMENIAN CHURCH OF SANTA CLARITA
The Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian, who had been ordained by the Diocesan Primate on October 7, 2014, has been appointed as the Pastor of St. Sarkis Armenian Church of Santa Clarita. In his previous pastoral assignment, Father Serovbe served as the Pastor of the Armenian Church of Ventura County. Father Serovbe will assume the pastorate of the St. Sarkis Armenian Church effective July 1, 2016.
           
Rev. Fr. Serovbe Alanjian: Brief Biography
 
Born on November 22, 1973, in Beirut, Lebanon, Father Serovbe completed the Yeghishe Manoukian high school and Beirut University College. 
 
He immigrated to the United States in 2006 where he met his future spouse Arusyak Balikyan.
 
On November 2, 2008, the couple had a son Krikor Hovsep Alanjian and on January 11, 2011 they were graced with a daughter Natalie Mary.
 
He was ordained as a Deacon by the Diocesan Primate His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian at St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Los Angeles on November 27, 2008, on the Feast of St. Sarkis the Warrior.
 
He served at the Burbank Cathedral Parish and the Armenian Church of Ventura County Mission Parish.
 
From 2010-2013, Father Serovbe attended St. John’s Catholic Seminary and graduated with a degree of Masters of Art in Pastoral Ministry, writing a thesis on the importance of Christian Education in the Armenian family based on the encyclical of St. Nerses the Graceful titled “Watch Your Steps.”
 
From January through July 2014, Father Serobve participated in priesthood preparation courses at Gevorgyan Theological Seminary in Holy Etchmiadzin, Armenia.
 
Father Serovbe Alanjian speaks four languages including Armenian, English, French and Arabic.
