Cathedral's Little Angels Saturday School Students Present Year End Ceremony

The year-end program and the graduation ceremony of St. Leon Armenian Cathedral’s “Little Angels” Saturday School was held on May 21, 2016 at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall of the Arshag and Eleanor Dickranian Diocesan Complex.
 
The ceremonial program consisted of delightful musical performances as well as recitations by the first grade students and the graduating class.
 
Certificates of Armenian alphabet knowledge and picture filled alphabet books were handed out to the first grade students. The senior class students received Certificates of Graduation.

In his remarks, the Diocesan Primate Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian commended the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan and the dedication of the school’s principal Deacon Hovhannes Gumruyan and the teachers for their invaluable roles of instilling in the hearts of the youth the love and appreciation for the Armenian language and culture.
 
The 2016-2017 school applications will be accepted from August 1 till September 10. The academic year will begin on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Classes will be held from 9:30 am – 12 noon.

The “Little Angels” Saturday School curriculum is designed to teach Eastern Armenian. The school consists of six grades and includes such subjects as Armenian literature, grammar and music.
