Newly Elected Ladies Society Central Council Convenes First Meeting

The newly elected Ladies Society Central Council convened first meeting under the auspices of Archbishop Primate Hovnan Derderian on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Diocesan Headquarters in Burbank. This was the LSCC’s first meeting following the Diocesan Assembly in May. The Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Dz. V. Berjekian, Vicar General of the Western Diocese, also participated in the meeting.
 
LSCC members expressed their keen desire to strengthen the Ladies Society chapters of the Western Diocese through frequent visitations. A special day to honor Ladies Society members of Diocesan parishes as well as women who have excelled in their professions is in the initial planning stages.
 
On March 1, 2017, Women’s Prayer Day, the Ladies Society Central Council will also recognize Armenian professional women of the community including doctors, attorneys, businesswomen and nurses as a means of honoring their contributions to the livelihood of the Armenian-American community.
 
The LSCC has also sponsored an upcoming publication of The Book of Divine Liturgy (Badarakamadooyts).
