Cec Meets At Diocesan Headquarters – New Chairlady And Members Introduced

On June 11, 2016, the Christian Education Council (CEC) of the Western Diocese held a meeting at the Diocesan Headquarters presided by H.E. Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.
 
Following an opening prayer, Archbishop Derderian introduced the new Chairlady Mrs. Gail Chelebian and CEC members Fr. Krkikor Zakaryan, Dn. Artak Khachikyan, Anton Gizmetian, Dr. Scott Asmar, Mrs. Arlet Bicakci and Audrey Matoesian to the council.
 
Other CEC members include the Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian, Dn. Stephen Arakelian, Izzie Toumanian, Suzie Grigorians, Karen Mener, David Joakian and Vahe Sargsyan.
 
The CEC members discussed the planning of the upcoming events including the Sunday School teachers’ workshop in the month of August. As it pertains to the 2016-2017 School Year Calendar, CEC members explored ways to enhance the Sunday School curriculum and discussed the continuation of the monthly E-newsletter. Specific tasks were distributed among CEC members to complete prior to the start of the 2016-2017 School Year which will start on Sunday, September 11, 2016.
 
The dates of the workshops will be announced in upcoming newsletters.
 
In his remarks, the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian commended the CEC members and encouraged them to continue their dedicated service. His Eminence also noted the importance of having well trained Sunday School instructors, who instill in the hearts of the children the appreciation of God’s immeasurable divine love and their loyalty for the Armenian Apostolic Church.
