The first annual Christmas Carol Program was held at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral on Sunday, December 20th. Organized by the Armenian Apostolic Church Choirs of the Western Diocese, the Choir delighted an audience of more than 200 with their wonderful renditions of Armenian liturgical hymns dedicated to the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as timeless American Christmas classics.
Opening remarks were made by Archpriest Fr. Arshag Khatchadourian and the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan after which AACCWD Chairman and the evening's pianist Mr. Sevag Derderian delivered his welcoming remarks.
In his closing remarks, the Primate commended AACCWD's initiative to start a new tradition at the Western Diocese through the Christmas Carol Program adding that the noble endeavor would enlighten the hearts of the faithful with the Christmas spirit. Archbishop Derderian thanked Father Khajag Shahbazyan for his warm hospitality and gracious support of the program and added words of appreciation to Mr. Sevag Derderian and the choir's conductor Mrs. Alenoush Yeghnazar.
