Stunning Miniature Sculptures on Display at the Zorayan Museum: Dorothy Marootian’s Paintings Also on Display

Visitors remained in awe going from station to station and viewing the stunning works of miniature sculptures by Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan through microscopes. Held under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and organized by the Hi-Am Foundation, the exhibition’s opening ceremony was held on July 13. Representing the Diocesan Primate was the Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Berjekian, Vicar General of the Western Diocese who commended the talented sculptor wishing him continued success in his artistic and creative endeavors.

In 2014, Ter-Ghazaryan sculpted the Statue of David of Sassoun, on top of a cliff. The height of the micro sculpture is 0.5 mm (1/50 inches) long. On the left, an excerpt of the epos “Sasna Tsrer” is engraved with a sharpened hair with black oil. The micro sculpture was created on the occasion of UNESCO’s inclusion of the Armenian epos in its list of intangible cultural heritages in 2012.

Gifted micro-sculptor Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan has created more than 100 micro sculptures to date. Many of Ter Ghazaryan’s works been exhibited in various museums around the world.
Also on display at the exhibition were the award-winning paintings of the late Dorothy Marootian.
