Zorayan Museum Hosts Lydia Tchakerian Exhibition

The mission of the Zorayan Museum, namely to organize exhibitions to promote understanding and appreciation of Armenian ethnic, religious and cultural diversity by exposing the beauty of Armenian heritage, and preserving and sharing the experiences with people of the world has remained unchanged for over six years. On October 11, 2016, the museum was host to the exhibition of talented artist Lidya Tchakerian.

The event, titled “Parce Que La Vie Est Belle” (Because Life is Beautiful), was organized by the Zorayan Museum Committee. The exhibition commenced with the welcoming remarks by the Very Rev. Fr. Pakrad Berjekian, Vicar General, who introduced the artist and her accolades in the art world.

Art aficionados were treated to a reception following the exhibition.

Born in Lebanon, Lidya Tchakerian has gained international recognition for her large-scale and multi-layer full color works that explore the conflicts of existence, history of war and culture, conscious and subconscious feelings of humanity; creating contemporary new expressionism art since 1986. Since 1988, her work has appeared in solo Exhibitions and more than 50 group Exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Lebanon and China.  

Tchakerian has won International and National Awards in recognition of her outstanding works of art.  In 2009 and 2013, she received the Art-Majeur International Silver Award in Montpelier, France.
