Primate of Artaskh H.E. Abp. Pargev Martirosyan Celebrant at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral

At the invitation of the Diocesan Primate, on November 20, 2016, His Eminence Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, Primate of the Diocese of Artsakh, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at the St. Leon (Srbots Ghevontiants) Armenian Cathedral.

The high-ranking clergyman and member of the Supreme Spiritual Council was introduced to the parishioners by the Diocesan Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were His Excellency Valery Mkrtumyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Razmik Markosyan, Advisor to the Armenian Prime Minister for Religious Affairs, Mr. Robert Avetisyan, NKR representative in Washington, DC., and Mr. Artur Aghabekyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Grammy nominated pianist and composer Serouj Kradjian, renowned operatic soprano Isabelle Bayrakdarian and Mr. Ara Khatchadourian, an extreme-sport athlete who conquered Mount Everest in 2015 in commemoration of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide.  

Guest clergy in attendance were the Rev. Fr. Mesrop Aramyan, American University Board member and the Rev. Fr. Norayr Patanian from Sydney, Australia.

A light reception in honor of the celebrant bishop was held at the Primate’s Office following the service.
