The Episcopal Cathedral Center of St. Paul in Echo Park hosted an interfaith prayer service themed “Reflection and Solidarity” on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Held under the auspices of the Los Angeles Council of Religious Leaders, His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America participated in the service. Archbishop Derderian was accompanied by the Very Rev. Fr. Yeremia Abgaryan.
Last year, on the same Sunday after Thanksgiving, the Los Angeles Interfaith Community came together in an interfaith liturgy rooted in the theme of “Gratitude”. The leaders gave thanks for the many blessings, and set out in common cause to address three focus areas: homelessness relief and affordable housing, relief of the global refugee crisis, and increased communication among interfaith networks in Southern California. Similarly, the Los Angeles Council of Religious Leasers renewed its commitment to fostering deepened “relationship, stewardship and leadership.”
