Oia Marks The 9Th Anniversary Of Hrant Dink'S Martyrdom

On the 9th anniversary of Hrant Dink's assassination, the Organization of Istanbul Armenians had organized a memorial service and a wreath laying ceremony was held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument in Montebello.  Representing the Primate, Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian participated in the memorial service and the wreath laying ceremony.   At 8:00 p.m., community leaders gathered at the “Krikor and Aved Kurkcuoglu Hall” of the OIA Headquarters to pay homage to the memory of Hrant Dink, chief editor of "Agos" Armenian weekly newspaper whose assassination on January 19, 2007 spurred a shockwave and sparked outrage in Armenian communities in the Diaspora.  The commemorative event was organized by the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Organization of Istanbul Armenians. His Grace Bishop Sebuh Chuljyan attended the event and conveyed his genuine wishes to the organizers, commending their pursuit of justice.
