What is very obvious is that the world is changing at a relatively fast pace. What isn’t so obvious is how to embrace your faith during these fast-paced, changing times. With a variety of speakers, presentations, activities, music, artistic renderings, along with prayer, meditation, the Western Diocese is organizing an unprecedented Faith Rally and Christian Conference at its headquarters in Burbank, March 10, 11 and 12, 2017.
Titled, “Embracing our Faith in a Changing World,” this conference is an opportunity for people to reclaim the ancient traditions and faith that hold the answers and secrets for a productive and healthy live today.
At the invitation of the Archbishop Hovnan Derderian young and old are welcome to attend, learn and grow spiritually. “This is an extension of the many activities our Diocese organizes. These are three days to understand the and explore the gift of life and faith that our Armenian Church offers us.”
According to event organizer, Fr. Vazken Movsesian, “We’re calling the Conference ‘Reclaim.’ Given the rapid changes in the world, the Armenian Apostolic Church offers a time-proven tradition of victory through faith in Jesus Christ. We seldom remember how powerful that is. With our classes and presentations, that is exactly what we need to reclaim.”
All conference events – classes, meditations, service-project, worship services, morning hike, art projects provide the necessary spiritual tools to move from the secular to the sacred; to find comfort, strength and courage to live the Christian life. The three-day format for this conference will offer time for instruction, expression, introspection, artistic exploration and fellowship. International participation is welcome.
These three-days are not to be missed. The nominal cost of $125/person covers all materials, events and meals for the three days. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the Diocesan parishes, many scholarships are available. The organizing committee has made it clear that NO ONE will be refused because of inability to pay.
