St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church of Santa Clarita celebrated its 7th Annual Banquet on the evening of February 18, 2017. The celebratory event took place at the Kalaydjian Banquet Hall adjacent to St. Leon Armenian Cathedral in Burbank.
The evening commenced with welcoming remarks by masters of ceremonies Hagop Kurian and Melissa Saracyan. Very Reverend Father Dajad Yardemian, led the opening prayer. Parish Council Chairlady, Mrs. Lida Vahramian, greeted guests in attendance and thanked fellow committee members for their commitment to the mission of St. Sarkis Armenian Church.
Parish Priest, the Rev. Fr. Serovpe Alanjian acknowledged the advancements of St. Sarkis Church since its establishment as a mission parish in 2004. In his remarks, Fr. Serovpe reflected on the tremendous strides taken by the parish in its brief history. He expressed his gratitude to His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian for his pastoral guidance and support throughout the years.
The Primate commended the collective efforts of Fr. Serovpe Alanjian, the members of the Parish Council, Ladies Society and all auxiliary bodies of the Santa Clarita parish for their dedicated service. His Eminence encouraged parishioners to serve Christ, our Lord with renewed passion and zeal.
Entertainment included beautiful dance performances from Elizabeth, Anahit and Kristina Abajian. The program also featured a comedy performance by Deacon Stephan Hovagimian.
Guests took home a special commemorative booklet marking the auspicious occasion.
