St. Peter Armenian Church in Van Nuys celebrated its Name Day on Sunday, February 19, 2017 with an episcopal celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The day’s celebrant was His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.
His Eminence Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian also participated in the service.


During the service, Archbishop Hovnan Derderian granted four minor orders of acolyte to Gevork Tarakchyan, Armen Kirakossian, Narek Ishkhanyan, Sarkis Zhamkochyan, Aren Kedikian, Kristapor Kedikian, Ani Zhamkochyan, Lauren Missakian, Caitlyn Missakian, Nicholas Ghookasian, Nathan Ghookasian, Karapet Gary Temamyan, Ohan Kilisian, and Sargis Manukyan. The latter three of the fourteen altar servers were also granted the order of stolebearer.




With the participation of Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian, Pastor, the Primate performed the blessing of the madagh, which was distributed to the parishioners.
A reception was held following the service at the church hall.
