Easter is the time for celebration of our faith. This year more than ever before, the celebration of our faith becomes a dire necessity as the world witnesses the ongoing suffering and pain in the lives of countless individuals and nations. Tragic events, which follow one after the other, cannot shatter the peace of our spiritual life. Furthermore, faith alone remains as the sole comforter of our hearts.
I personally cannot perceive as to how humanity can be at peace when the life of an individual or nation is disrupted due to evil acts. It was only a few days ago when the world witnessed the killing of 47 Copts who were about to celebrate Palm Sunday. The victims have lost their lives and their beloved ones are left with much pain. The more I think about the recent atrocities, the more I feel that our Christian Faith is and will be the sole element of healing. Prayer must become the backbone of our society. From presidents to farmers, we must beseech God’s wisdom, love and mercy.
The moral responsibility to bring peace and change in the world lies upon each of us. This year, as we celebrate Easter, I kindly request from all faithful to deepen in our hearts the Christian Faith, to enrich one another’s lives with good deeds, but above all to live the Victorious Resurrection of Christ, our Lord.
