Mer Hooys Residents Receive a Visit from Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian

On May 25, 2017, Mer Hooys had two very special groups of visitors.  In the late morning, Father Haroutiun Tachechian, parish priest of St. James Armenian Apostolic Church of Los Angeles, and his Yeretzgin Talin, visited the Nakashian Children’s Support Center and spent time with the children.

They brought the girls their favorite treat - “bonchik” (cream filled donuts) from Grand Candy - and clothing and gifts for all the girls.  The children spent time talking and singing with Der Hayr.  Der Hayr and Yeretzgin enjoyed their visit very much, feeling like they were “home with their own children.”   Later in the day, Mer Hooys Board member, Dn. Barlow Der Mugrdechian, professor and chairman of the Armenian Studies Program at California State University Fresno, visited the Center with a group of students from the program.  The children performed Armenian dances for the visitors, and had fun playing soccer in the backyard of the Center.  The day was a full one for the girls at Mer Hooys but it was filled with joy and blessings from the visitors.

Visit Mer Hooys’s Facebook page or the Mer Hooys website, www.mer-hooys.org, to see videos of the day’s events.
