St. Paul Armenian Church Hosts Deacons Training Program

The Central Valley Parishes of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America held a day-long altar servers’ training program on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Paul Armenian Church in Fresno. Acolytes, sub-deacons and deacons from Sts. Sahag-Mesrob Armenian Church in Reedley, St Gregory Armenian Church in Fowler, St. Mary Armenian Church in Yettem and the host parish participated in the program.

Archpriest Fr. Kevork Arakelian, Visiting Priest to Sts. Sahag-Mesrob Armenian Church and Archpriest Fr. Yeghia Hairabedian, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, lectured on the topics of the Deaconess of the Armenian Church and Deacons’ Ministry, respectively.

Among the topics of instruction included censing, the Nicene Creed, Gospel reading, procession of the chalice, Hymns (sharagans), and deacons’ litany.
