On June 20, 2017, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians welcomed members of the Turpanjian family to Holy Etchmiadzin. The esteemed benefactors of the Mother See Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian were represented by Lori Muncherian-Turpanjian, Paul and Harry Turpanjian, and their families. They were accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and Mexico.


Extending his blessings, His Holiness commended the dedication of the Turpanjian family in supporting religious-educational missions realized by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin as well as loyally partaking in a number of God-pleasing missions realized by the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.
The Pontiff informed his visitors about the number of missions in the educational and social spheres presently realized by the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Â Â


His Holiness reflected on the current challenges faced by the Armenian Apostolic Church especially in regards to the restoration of holy sites, the construction of new churches and the training and preparation of the future wave of priests.

At the conclusion of the visit, His Holiness stressed the importance of having such devout faithful as the Turpanjian family in the diaspora committed to carrying out the mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Catholicos of All Armenians stressed the vital role of the Turpanjians in the renovation of one of the Turpanjian Seminary of Harichavank and the complete restoration of the Monastery of Harich.
