Acolytes' And Deacons' Training At The Diocesan Headquarters

Organized by Rev. Fr. Haroutioun Tachejian, Parish Priest of St. James Armenian Church of Los Angeles, a Deacons and Acolytes Training Program was held at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral on Saturday, June 24, 2017, under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of North America and Mexico.

More than 30 acolytes, sub-deacons, deacons and young ACYO senor ladies were in attendance.  The training sessions were conducted by Fr. Haroutioun and Sevak Derderian in the morning and afternoon.  The topics of training were learning the Sharagans, “Havadamk” and “Park I Partsoons Astoudo” songs and also ritual practices, censing, Gospel reading, and Holy Chalice 

During the break lunch, His Eminence Abp. Hovnan Derderian highly appreciated and encouraged the attendees for their interest to learn in depth the Divine Liturgy practices. He also donated to the attendees newly printed prayer books and CDs of the Divine Liturgy.
