Nestled in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys is a vibrant parish with an energetic priest, thriving Saturday and Sunday Schools, a fellowship hall and a number of organizations that spread the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and uphold the sacred traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
On January 31, the parishioners took part in the episcopal celebration of the Divine Liturgy. The day's celebrant and homilist was His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America.Â
On the occasion of the name day of St. Peter Armenian Church of Van Nuys, the Primate, assisted by Archpriest Fr. Shnork Demirjian, performed the blessing of the madagh service. The madagh or offering was distributed to the parishioners. A reception attended by the chairs and committee members of the parish organizations was held following the service. In his remarks, Father Shnork expressed his genuine gratitude to the Primate for his pastoral guidance and support throughout the years.
