The Christmas Season is fast approaching and one of the highlighted events will be the Annual Christmas Ball under the auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. The Christmas Ball Committee, under the leadership of Raffi Kendirjian, have already begun plans and preparations for the Ball. For the Fourteenth Year, this festive event will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Nazareth and Sima Kalaydjian Hall of the Arshag and Eleanor Dickranian Complex, 3325 North Glenoaks Boulevard in Burbank.
The festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a Gala Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Turpanjian Plaza, singing by Christmas Carolers, followed by cocktails and appetizers in the Paul Brothers Galleria. At 8:00 p.m. a welcoming dinner and exciting program will be held in the Kalaydjian Hall.
The theme for this year’s ball is “Believe” which is a testament to our strong belief in our faith and our belief in the future by focusing on the accomplishments of Armenian American men and women whose achievements are exemplified in their selfless service to our people and our church. Kendirjian states, “Each year we are proud to salute and acknowledge individuals who epitomize our Armenian heritage and culture with their faith and service. They are an inspiration to future generations.”
The Christmas Ball was created by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, to develop an auspicious occasion that brings the community together to celebrate the launch of the Christmas Season and to be aware of the numerous achievements that have been accomplished throughout the year. His Eminence stated, “The Annual Christmas Ball is a beautiful tradition established at the Western Diocese. This event celebrates the achievements of our community leaders and young professionals and is a call of duty addressed to each and every individual in our community to offer the sacrifice of the heart and devote to eternal values that transcend everything transient.”
The professionals to be honored this year are Ruben Melikyan, Armenui (Amy) Ashvanian, Esq., Silva Karchikian, MD; Kevin G. Galstyan, MD, FACOG; Arby Nahapetian, MD; Ron Nazeley; Hasmik Keyribarian; Shahan Yacoubian, MD; Pattyl Aposhian Kasparian, MBA, CIE; and Ohannes Kulak Avedikyan.
The Christmas Ball Committee promises that this annual event is an evening of fun, entertainment, music and dancing. They are delighted that entertainment will be provided by Allen G Orchestra’s celebrated musicians and entertainers. A booklet containing the biographies of the honorees will be available to commemorate the event and afford families and friends the opportunity to write the honorees a personal message.

Seating is limited as this event fills up fast. Tickets for the event are $125.00 per person.
