On November 11, 2017, following a collective morning prayer, a group of pilgrims lit a candle at St. Peter Armenian Church of Glendale and set out on a trip to St. Apkar Armenian Church in Arizona with the goal of lighting it once again in the host parish.

The pilgrimage was led by the Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan, the Parish Priest. The pilgrims toured the scenic city of Sedona where they enjoyed the beauty of the Holy Cross Chapel built into the buttes of Sedona. After reaching their destination of St. Apkar Armenian Church in Scottsdale, the pilgrims along with the Rev. Fr. Zacharia Saribekyan relit the pilgrimage prayer candle in the beautiful sanctuary. Â
On Sunday, November 12, Fr. Yeghia Isayan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Apkar Armenian Church. Â The pastor of the host parish was the homilist whose sermon was focused on spiritual friendship and the importance of inter-parish pilgrimages.
After the service, Fr. Zacharia invited his esteemed guests to an Agape Meal prepared by the Parish Council and Ladies Society of St. Apkar Armenian Church. In a cordial atmosphere, the group enjoyed the warm hospitality and camaraderie of the host parishioners.
