Ventura County Mission Parish Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The 10th Anniversary of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Ventura County was celebrated Sunday, Oct. 22, at the North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

Sponsored by the Ladies’ Society of the church, the 10th Anniversary gala celebration drew 125 attendees who danced to the renowned Greg Hosharian Brothers Band, bid on silent auction items and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  A slide show, running throughout the evening, documented the past ten years of progress.

During the program, 10 candles were lit to honor the event’s ten sponsors, and all donors were thanked. Co-chaired by Nora Sahagian and Arlene Saryan, proceeds from the event will support the church and help grow its building fund.

Special guest at the celebration, emceed by Parish Council Chair John Farsakian, was Archbishop Hovan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, who congratulated the church community on its accomplishments and urged them to remain steadfast in faith and to continue the mission of community building.

Established in the fall of 2007, the Armenian Apostolic Church of Ventura County holds services on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Thousand Oaks. Sunday School and Armenian language classes are also offered.
