During the service, the Diocesan Primate recognized the selfless service of the Agape Circle under the steadfast leadership of Mrs. Alice Chakrian. His Eminence delightfully noted that this year also marked the fulfillment of $100,000 pledge by the Agape Circle to benefit CHLA’s Vision Center, the Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit, the Literally Healing Program and the Interfaith Center.Â

Present at the service were Dr. Thomas Lee, Director of the Vision Center of CHLA whose vision has made it possible to work with an international team of pediatric retina specialists thousands of miles away in Armenia to help eradicate a disease that caused blindness in infants. Dr. Lee continues to work closely with physicians and the Ministry of Health in Armenia through remote education and telemedicine setting the standards for similar disease control in other countries.
Ms. Rita Terterian, the Associate Vice President Foundation Dept. of CHLA, also participated in the service. Â Throughout the years, Ms. Terterian has worked closely with the Agape Circle the noting their incredible support in initiating the Armenian Ambassadors of the CHLA.

In addition, Agape Circle’s philanthropic outreach has expanded to include the YWCA of Glendale. Through a generous donation from the Agape Circle and VS Staging, Inc., the computer room at the YWCA was completely refurbished.
