Thanksgiving Celebration at Nakashian Children’s Support Center (Mer Hooys – House of Hope)

This year the Nakashian Children’s Support Center celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday together with Children's International Day in a unique way.

The residents of the Center welcomed teachers, schoolmates, and the director of the school they attend. The reason for the invitation was to introduce the teachers to the place in which their pupils live, where they do their homework and what they do in general. The school staff was pleasantly surprised by the small performance the girls prepared for their teachers and their friends.

WIth a little slide show, the girls told their "audience" about the Thanksgiving holiday, about Friendship and they also included some photos in the slide to show what celebrations they had, what places they went for holidays and what special occasions they had in the Center. At the end everyone danced a very beautiful Armenian folk dance and the children told their guests that they would like to enjoy more opportunities for these types of gatherings with their teachers and friends at their “home.”

The Mer Hooys program provides many opportunities for our children living in the Center to help them feel like they are in their own home. Thank you to our talented and dedicated staff for organizing such a wonderful experience for all of the children who participated.
