The Recovery And Rebuilding Efforts Of The Syrian-Armenian Community

A public gathering organized by the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund (SARF) was on Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Armenian Society of Los Angeles Center in Glendale.

The event was held under the auspices of the heads of the Armenian Apostolic, Catholic, and Evangelical Churches, and featured H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, as the keynote speaker. Archbishop Sarkissian, who is also the President of the Central Committee of “SHDAB” Syrian-Armenian Emergency Relief and Reconstruction Organization presented the recovery and rebuilding efforts of the Syrian-Armenian community.

The Diocesan Primate was represented at the event by the Very Rev. Fr. Dajad Dz. V. Yardemian, who delivered the opening remarks and the Primate's message. Archpriest Fr. Hovsep Hagopian and the Rev. Fr. Yeghia Isayan were also in attendance.

The Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America has donated $10,000 to aid the struggling Armenian community in Syria.

On December 15, 2017, H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian accompanied by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian visited the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church and met with the Primate.
